With over 20 years of fine woodworking experience, Ben Newman’s furniture reflects his dedication to style, design, and craftsmanship.
Growing up in the heart of Chicago, Ben’s first professional venture into woodworking was as an apprentice in a local cabinet shop. After completing his apprenticeship, he spent summers in Vermont honing his skills in historical restoration while working on the Vanderbilt and Robert Frost estates. Upon returning to Chicago, he combined his cabinetmaking and restorations experiences to develop a niche mountmaking business – creating mounts for ancient artifacts from Egypt, Asia, and the Middle East. Ben’s experience, technique, and approach to woodworking quickly earned him furniture requests from his mountmaking clientele, evolving his business into full-time, fine furniture woodshop.
His work can be seen in private residences, art galleries, and upscale restaurants across the country. His refined style is characterized by his use of natural materials and thoughtful design to craft elegant, functional pieces.
